Adoption Process
The addition of a family pet is a major event for your family! We take all of the necessary steps to ensure our dogs are in excellent health, and they are all certified and cleared for eyes, heart, hips, and elbows. We genetically match the parents for optimal results. Our puppies are ready for their forever homes at 8 weeks of age and will have all of their age-appropriate shots. They will also be thoroughly examined by our veterinarian prior to release.
If you would like to consider adding one of our puppies to your family, please contact us for additional information. At that time, we will inquire about the puppy's potential future home and environment. It is very important to us that the puppy join a family where he/she will be cared for and become a live-in member of the family. These questions help us to learn more about your experience level with dogs and help us to identify any areas where we can offer helpful advice. The questions are not mandatory and there are no right or wrong answers; they are simply talking points for us to learn more about our pup's potential families. We typically prefer to discuss over the phone, but you may also submit answers via the form below.
We will be interested in discussing the following information:
- Which breed are you interested in and why?
- Would you prefer a male or a female puppy?
- In what city and state do you live?
- Will the living conditions be primarily indoor or outdoor?
- Do you have a yard? If so, is it fenced?
- What is your exercise plan for the dog?
- What is your plan for potty training?
- Do you plan to crate train the puppy?
- What is your overall training plan?
- What other pets do you own? Do you have other dogs? If so, how many and what breed?
- Do you have small children? Do they know how to interact with a puppy?
- Who will be the primary caretaker?
- How many hours a day will the dog be left alone?
- What veterinary clinic do you plan to use?
After learning more about your family, we will determine if your family is the ideal forever home for one of our pups. If you are interested in proceeding, we do require a non-refundable deposit to reserve each family's selection.
